  • Hip-hop and electro fiends Chromeo will be the next in line to mix it up for !K7's DJ-KiCKS. It will be the first in the series of mixes in more than two years, coming after Booka Shade's 2007 entry, and an announced—but apparently never completed—effort from dubstep icon Burial. From what we can glean from the press release, Chromeo come correct with a set that reportedly does almost exactly what you would expect it to, taking in early '80s disco and R&B as well as some Italo and space disco. While we don't have a full tracklisting available yet, it's confirmed that there will be tunes from Leo Sayer, France Joli and The Alan Parsons Project among many more. Continuing in the tradition of the series, Chromeo have also provided an exclusive track for the mix—a cover of The Eagles' "I Can't Tell You Why" done in their inimitable style. You can grab it for free, courtesy of the good folks at the label here. K7 will release Chromeo's DJ-KiCKS in early October.
