- Veteran American house producer DJ Pierre is set to arrive in Australia next month for a series of nation-wide dates. He'll be getting things underway in Melbourne on 17 October, then stopping off for shows in Sydney, Perth and Adelaide. Perhaps most widely known for his contribution to acid house in the late '80s—including "Acid Tracks," one of the genre's most recognisable cuts—Pierre has enjoyed a lengthy production career, releasing a consistent barrage of singles under a variety of colourful aliases. The last few years have seen the flamboyant Chicago-born producer add to the catalogues of International Deejay Gigolo Records, King Street Sounds and, more extensively, to his own DJP Records imprint.
