  • The Orb's Alex Paterson will top the bill at next month's World Unknown party with a specially tailored DJ set. Born out of the ashes of Andy Blake's now defunct Dissident imprint, the World Unknown party has now become one of Blake's main focuses, taking the underground aesthetic that defined his label and channeling it into party form alongside Bloc resident and Bodyhammer promoter Joe Hart. Again taking place in a secret Brixton location, the event on Friday 12th February will see The Orb's Dr. Alex Paterson continue his run of intimate shows in the capital after launching the collective's Baghdad Batteries LP at Arch 635 in September. The bash will see Paterson take to the decks for a DJ set that he'll have prepared especially for the evening, which is set to feature all sorts of dark '80s favourites from his collection. Accompanying The Orb leader will be Malicious Damage founder and visual artist Mike Coles, who will be taking control of the the projections and look of the venue on the night, with Andy Blake also set to unveil his live acid house set. Fellow resident and promoter Joe Hart will also hit the Technics to showcase the party's New Beat, Chicago house, Italo and electro stylings, and there'll even be another special guest announced on the night.
