  • Mathew Jonson will perform three times in a single evening at Frankfurt's Robert Johnson early next month. The bash on Friday 5th February will be the first ever Wagon Repair showcase at the intimate venue, and Jonson will be bringing along a mountain of gear as well as his three good friends and sometime production partners Colin da la Plante (AKA The Mole), Danuel Tate and Tyger Dhula for some serious improvisational action. Jonson is set to perform solo before taking to the stage with Tate and Dhula, who comprise the other two-thirds of Cobblestone Jazz. Following that, they'll add The Mole into the mix for some jaunty jams as The Modern Deep Left Quartet. The latter project has been on hiatus since The Mole's move from Vancouver, but with both Jonson and de la Plante now living in Berlin, it looks as if the project can now be revived. Expect plenty of rough analogue bass riffs, slinky jazzy progressions, and bubbling minimalist percussion throughout the evening, which promises to be an essential party for revellers who are heavily into live electronic music.
