  • The D25: Detroit Twenty Five tour is set to continue in August with Barcelona confirmed as the next stop. The brainchild of the DPA (Detroit Premier Artists) agency, which represents Detroit heavyweights like Kenny Larkin and Kevin Saunderson, D25 was conceived to celebrate 25 years since the birth of techno with a series of parties around the world. D25 kicked off earlier this year at Club 79 in Paris, and followed with a major event during Miami's Winter Music Conference with Juan Atkins, Theo Parrish and Kyle Hall. D25 has since hosted events in Brazil and Mexico will continue into 2011 following a showcase at Amsterdam Dance Event this fall. Carl Craig, Moodymann and Stacey Pullen will be the Motor City representatives for the Spanish leg of D25, which will take place at Ghoa Beach Club, a new seaside venue that was unveiled during this year's Sonar festival. All three are highly respected for their own seminal productions and should offer a formidable cross-section of Detroit sounds, with a live performance of Craig's iconic productions and reworks, Pullen's mix of authentic techno and vocal house and Moodymann's eclectic trips through two-turntables-and-a-microphone nostalgia.
