  • Maryland-based producer Maxmillion Dunbar will release Cool Water, this October on Ramp Recordings. Though relatively new to the world of electronic music production, Dunbar has been an active musician for years, having gotten his start rapping under the pseudonym Vulture Voltaire. His tracks nowadays lean toward sunny, slo-mo house, though the the occasional syncopated rhythm still betrays his hip-hop roots. Cool Water will follow the Girls Dream EP from earlier this summer. "[The album] is a straight up trip through me," says Dunbar. "'Pretty Please' is on some boogie party fly shit... 'Sno Mega' is for rollerskates, 'Way Down' is an earth tone blast, 'Girls Dream' is slow ocean disco, 'Rhythm Track for Rashied Ali' is a house slam in honor of the illest drummer ever, 'Lemon & Lime' is what happened when I got really into this one Polygon Window song this year. 'Original Soundtrack Flutes' is my New Age anthem. And 'Breathe What U Say' lays it all out at the end like some Brian Eno and Cluster meets T-Pain vibe, just layers and layers of me breathing into a vocoder, dripping away." Tracklist 01. Pretty Please 02. Sno Mega 03. Way Down 04. Girls Dream 05. Rhythm Track for Rashied Ali 06. Lemon & Lime 07. Original Soundtrack Flutes 08. Breathe What You Say Ramp Recordings will release Maxmillion Dunbar's Cool Water on October 11th, 2010.
