  • Brendan Angelides, AKA Eskmo, will release his first proper artist album this fall on London-based label Ninja Tune. For the past decade or so, Angelides has pushed a syncopated electronic sound that lies somewhere between dubstep and hip-hop, with his own vocals lending his tracks a dreamy, intimate feel. The bulk of his catalog has been released on his own imprints, Eskmo Recordings and Ancestor, though over the past year he's been picked up by illustrious UK labels like Warp and Planet Mu in addition to Ninja Tune. He's also done collaborative work with fellow Californian Amon Tobin under the moniker Eskamon. Eskmo will be Angiledes's first artist album aside from Machines On Task, a CD he gave out for free between 1999 and 2000 at some of his first performances. It will be preceded by Cloudlight, a 12-inch featuring the album's opening song alongside a remix by Lorn and a track called "Come Back," which can be had for free over at Ekmo's homepage. You can watch the starry-eyed music video for "Cloudlight" below: Tracklist 01. Cloudlight 02. We Got More 03. Color Dropping 04. The Melody 05. You Go, I See That 06. My Gears Are Starting To Tremble Nina Tune will release Eskmo on October 4th, 2010.
