- The Berlin resident will play dates in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide next month.
- Berlin-based techno producer Daniel Bell is set to tour Australia shortly, stopping in for three dates in October. Above all, Bell is a figure associated with Detroit techno. Born in California, the producer relocated to Detroit in the early '90s, and linked up with several artists most well known for pushing forward the growing minimal scene. Though his grounding is in techno, he's no stranger to more house-orientated sounds, evidenced by his collaborations with fellow producer Rick Wade. As a DJ, Bell's sound is firmly planted in a minimal approach. The turn of the century saw Bell relocate to Europe, which subsequently pushed his production and DJ sets further into the European sound's realm, picking up the Berlin techno aesthetic. For many, his 2000 commercial mix effort epitomizes the gradual building up of a DJ set, sitting at number two in RA's top mixes of the '00s. Bell will be getting his Australian tour underway with a date at Mad Racket's 12-year anniversary party on October 23rd. Dates over the following weekend will take place in Melbourne and Adelaide, going down at Mercat Basement and Sugar in each city, respectively.
