  • London's fabric club will host a fundraiser later this week to help raise the profile of Fragile X Syndrome. Fragile X is described by the event's organisers as "the most common genetic form of inherited mental impairment," and all proceeds raised by this Thursday's party will be donated to The University of Edinburgh's centre for Fragile X Syndrome and Autism Research. The soundtrack for Fabric4X will have a definite slant towards UK indie, indie-dance and leftfield club sounds. Flamboyant electro-rapper Rowdy Superstar will take some time out from production work and live shows with Matthew Herbert for his live performance, as will Stricken City and South London trio The Invisible. A raft of DJs will appear throughout the night, from a second Herbert-affiliated experimentalist, Micachu, plus Everything Everything and London two-piece Visions Of Trees. Also showcasing their selector skills will be Planningtorock, fresh from her live project with The Knife and Mt. Sims. Rounding off the bill are New Young Pony Club, The Britpop Soundsystem Nite Versions, British Males and Cocadisco among others. Tickets for Fabric4X are still available right here from RA.
