  • Minimal pro Dubfire will play a headlining set next Saturday night at Good Units in Manhattan. The event is a collaborative effort between SCI+TEC, Dubfire's digital label, and Verboten, the promoter behind most of the recent parties at New York's highest-altitude club, The Rivington Hotel Penthouse. While those parties show Verboten setting up shop above an elegant lodging, their party with Dubfire will take place underneath one: Good Units sits in the basement of the Hudson Hotel, a classy joint on West 58th street, just a quick stroll away from the south end of Central Park. The space itself is a two-story, 7,000 square-foot former YMCA gym that's been renovated into a dark, graffiti-strewn club—perfect for Dubfire's sinister sounds. The night will mark Dubfire's second Verboten appearance, following his gig last year on the day after Christmas. Aside from resident DJ Andrew Vogt, he'll be the only one on the party's seven-hour schedule, allowing him plenty of time to dig deep into his crate.
