  • Belgian imprint R&S Records have booked rising star James Blake for this Saturday night at XOYO. Though his first record came out just over a year ago, Blake is already among UK bass music's most respected artists. He debuted on R&S last summer with CMYK, an EP that boosted his profile in the dubstep scene and garnered a bit of crossover appeal as well (including a glowing review on Pitchfork). Since then he's kept up his profile with another contemplative 12-inch for R&S called Klavierwerke, and is due to release his self-titled debut album in February. Joining him on the bill are two equally fresh-faced additions to the R&S stable. Much like Blake, Space Dimension Controller has enjoyed a breakthrough year in 2010, culminating in the highly acclaimed Temporary Thrillz EP from this fall (as well as a recent RA Podcast). With a sound that falls somewhere between house, electro and cosmic disco, the young Norther-Irishman should add a bit of diverse flair to party. As for Pariah, he's cut from the same musical cloth as Blake, with moody broken beat records that lie somewhere beyond dubstep. Support will come from local artists The Chain, Blawan and Bullion. Tickets to R&S: In Order to Dance are available here on RA.
