  • Trouw will reopen on Friday 2nd September. "August is the slowest month of the year and also feels like a good moment to have a lot of the staff take some time off, enjoy the summer and come back to a fresh new Trouw," says venue owner/creative director Olaf Boswijk on the reasons behind the month-long break. The club shut at the end of July and will reopen on September 2nd with their regular bass music party Colors, featuring sets from Hyperdub's Kode9 and Ikonika. Trouw & Friends the following night will see Kompakt boss Michael Mayer get behind the decks with support from Trouw residents 360. "Trouw was originally built for two years, but now we have an extended lease until 1st January 2015, this was the time to redo a lot of things that need the work," added Boswijk. That work included a major renovation of the restaurant as well as small renovations in the bars, toilets and backstage areas. "We were never really satisfied with the kitchen placement and the interior," says Boswijk. "We will move the kitchen to the centre of the space, make a new entrance on the street-side and redecorate the whole place. Also we have a new chef and new restaurant manager as of the 1st of September."
