  • Andy Vaz' second studio album, Straight Vacationing, is due out this autumn through Yore Records. In the five years since the release of his debut LP, Repetitive Moments Last Forever..., Vaz has shifted away from the minimal techno sound of that album, and of his Soundvariation and Background imprints. He established a third label, Yore Records, in 2007, with a view to referencing the roots of Detroit and Chicago house. The label has since gone on to feature artists like Rick Wade, Alton Miller and Patrice Scott alongside Vaz's own productions. While Straight Vacationing is in keeping with Yore Records' commitment to deep, melody-driven house with a US influence, it also sees Vaz branching out into overt sampling territory: "Just Another Round" reworks Kasso's Italo boogie classic "One More Round," and "A Dope Jam (Bullyshit Mix)" takes on A Taste of Honey's disco favourite "Boogie Oogie Oogie." A digital version of Straight Vacationing will offer additional digital remixes from Yore artists Scott, Wade and Miller, plus Memory Foundation, Ibex, Kez YM and Orlando B. Tracklist: 01. Detroit in Me 02. Stubnitz 03. Straight Vacationing 04. Fukuoka Liquid 05. Just another Round 06. Colliding Worlds 07. A Dope Jam (Bullyshit Mix) 08. The other Place Yore Records will release Straight Vacationing on October 26th, 2011.
