- The Detroit producer will make his Australian debut with two dates in October.
- Anthony 'Shake' Shakir will be playing two Australian dates in October. Shakir is one of the relatively unsung heroes of Detroit. Throughout his nearly two-decade career, he's remained something of a cult figure to the wider electronic music community, praised for his diverse and experimental approach to house and techno. Production-wise, his style runs the full gamut from raw house to atmospheric techno, with occasional excursions into avant-garde and broken beat. His catalog was summarized in 2010 on Rush Hour's three-disc collection, Frictionalism: 1994-2009. Shakir will play the first of his Australian dates in Sydney, where he'll be headlining the inaugural Boom Boom, going down at new venue The Spice Cellar on October 29th. He'll then touch down in Melbourne for a slot at The Mercat Basement courtesy of Animals Dancing on the 31st.
