  • Axel Willner, the Swedish artist behind The Field, will release a new album in January as Loops Of Your Heart. Entitled And Never Ending Nights, the LP will come out on Magazine, a Cologne-based label run by the artists Barnt, Jens-Uwe Beyer (AKA Popnoname) and Crato. Willner has been involved with Magazine since the beginning, having appeared on its first EP as part of the super-group Cologne Tape. Plans for a new project called Loops Of Your Heart already existed back then, though the name didn't officially surface until last month when Kompakt unveiled the tracklist for Pop Ambient 2012, which includes a track from And Never Ending Nights called "Riding the Bikes." Most of Magazine's output is characterized by a heavy kraut rock influence—bands like Cluster and Neu! echo clearly in its records, and their only LP so far was a collaboration between Beyer and Drums Off Chaos, a band led by former Can drummer Jaki Liebezeit. And Never Ending Nights is no exception: made after a move from Sweden to Berlin, the album trades the melancholy of The Field for a more sparse and cosmic sound. The album will be available on vinyl with a free CD version included. You can stream one of the tracks, "Neukölln," right here. Tracklist 01. Little You, You Should Develop 02. Broken Bow 03. Neukölln 04. End 05. Cries 06. Lost in the Mirror 07. At the Boards Magazine will release And Never Ending Nights on January 30th, 2012.
