  • UK dubstep artist Jack Sparrow will travel stateside to headline wastenot's fourth Reconstrvct party in Brooklyn next Saturday. Based in Leeds, Sparrow has spent the last half-decade working within the deeper, more purist realms of dubstep, and these days he produces for Pinch's influential label Tectonic Recordings. He put out his warmly-received debut long player Circadian on Tectonic a little over a year ago, and in late 2011 he teamed up with Ruckspin to release another album on the label as Author. Sparrow's appearance in Brooklyn looks to be his first US gig, and it comes less than a month after his Japanese debut. Fellow UK jock Lurka will also be on hand, along with Joe Nice, the veteran Baltimore DJ and founder of NYC's pioneering Dub War series. Truenature from Reconstrvct rounds out the lineup for the party's first underground session. As usual it's an 18+ affair, and you'll have to RSVP by email for details on the location. Tickets to the party are available here on RA.
