  • A new label called Voodoo Down Records will launch in March with a mini-compilation called Possible Side Effects, Vol. 1. The label is co-founded by three Brooklyn-based producers: Alex Hamedy, Sean Phillips and Christopher Ernst, also known as Penalune. The first EP begins with a track by Stephan Laubner, AKA STL, a German producer with whom the label has considerable ties: Laubner has released two of Penalune's albums on his label, Something, and has another album in the pipeline from Hamedy (under the name SmallBroadcasts) called Outside the Box. All three label founders appear on the EP next to Laubner, with Phillips (12 x 12) and Hamedy (N'conduit) making their recording debuts. Ernst appears twice, delivering a floor-friendly track as L'estasi Dell'oro and an ambient one as Penalune. Possible Side Effects, Vol.1 will be available on vinyl only in a limited run of 300 copies. Tracklist A1 STL - Computer Controlled A2 12 x 12 - Sass B1 L'estasi Dell'oro - Cry Stahl feat.
