Amon Tobin, Tim Hecker, Marcel Dettmann, Andy Stott and Matthew Herbert are among those booked for the annual festival in Manchester.
FutureEverything revealed the program for this year's conference in Manchester, taking place over four days in the middle of May.
FutureEverything regards itself a "festival of art, music and ideas"—something you hear a lot these days, though few events fit that description as truly as this one. For the past 15 years, the conference has brought together hundreds of professionals from various schools of science, art and technology to "explore the latest issues affecting today's digital culture." This year's theme is "FutureEverybody," a meditation on the unprecedented connectedness of today's population thanks to the internet and social media. This portion of the conference will take place at Museum of Science and Industry in Castlefield.
The festival's focus on the avant-garde continues with the nighttime events. Amon Tobin will present his acclaimed ISAM live act, and Matthew Herbert will deliver One Pig. Tri Angle will host a showcase with Holy Other, The Haxan Cloak and Vessel. Tim Hecker will play live at St. Philips Church, taking full advantage of the organ, with support from Forest Swords. There's a clubby side to the program as well: the opening party, co-presented by Mutek, features Deadbeat, Andy Stott and Szare, and another event at a TBA venue features Marcel Dettmann, Levon Vincent, John Talabot and FaltyDL.
