  • Leftfield will release a live double album and a DVD called Tourism on Field Note Records at the end of March. Paul Daley and Neil Barnes attracted a popular following during the '90s when their debut album, Leftism, peaked at number five on the UK charts, followed by Rhythm and Stealth, which shot to number one in 1999. The pair considered among the first to combine reggae, dub and house elements in their production. Many of these styles were incorporated thanks to guest vocalists like reggae lyricist Earl 16, Birmingham MC Cheshire Cat and African vocalist Djum Djum, to name a few. In 2010, nine years after Leftfield called it quits, Daley and Barnes called on these and a newly recruited singer, Jess Mills, to join them for a European tour. It was their performances across Australia the following year that provided material for their live album, Tourism—a title that Barnes says comes from "enjoying ourselves in Sydney." The package features classic Leftfield tracks like "Phat Planet", "Release the Pressure", "Song of Life" and many others. The release also includes a DVD of the on-stage visuals designed by the UK-based studio, ne1co, who have previously worked on stadium productions for M.I.A. and Above & Beyond. Coinciding with the release of Tourism, Leftfield have curated a show at the O2 Academy Brixton which they will headline on April 21st. The show is in support of the War Child charity which aims to protect children from the effects of war. The bill includes fellow live performers Booka Shade as well as DJ sets from Laurent Garnier and James Zabiela. Tracklist CD1: 01. Intro 02. Song of Life 03. Black Flute 04. Original 05.
