  • Skanner XT, a new sampler/synth hybrid from Native Instruments, is now available. The instrument uses a two oscillator architecture to scan samples which "at low frequencies deliver a scratch sound. At higher frequencies the oscillators, shaped by the sample waveform, become the dominant force." Skanner XT's GUI offers two interface views, with the first, simple view offering a preset morpher and four macro controls, and the second being the place to dig into more in-depth parameters. Skanner XT is actually an updated version of the free Skanner instrument, both of which were designed by Reaktor creator Stephan Schmitt. The instrument runs on both the free Reaktor 5 Player and the full version of Reaktor. Follow the link below for full information over on the NI site. Skanner XT is available now pried $59/49 euros.
