The Los Angeles techno promoter's Prime night will feature Dance Mania's DJ Slugo this week.
The long-running Los Angeles Thursday club night Prime is usually associated with the best in techno though they've never strayed away from adventurous bookings, and will continue to do so this week by hosting Chicago's DJ Slugo for a ghetto house night. Slugo, born Thomas Kendricks, is known for helping to create and spread Chicago's distinctive ghetto house style, also known as juke, the genre from which the recent footwork craze was borne. His earliest releases came on the respected Dance Mania label, itself instrumental in ghetto house's development. The night will mark the Chicago juke/ghetto house veteran's first-ever Los Angeles appearance. He'll be supported on the night by Black List's Stan Min and Low End Theory's Taurus Scott.
