  • Oneohtrix Point Never and Rene Hell will release an album together on September 17th. New York's Daniel Lopatin and LA's Jeff Witscher have both proven prolific artists in the American noise and experimental scenes over the past few years, releasing several LPs each and embarking on innumerable other projects. Their next release shows each artist contributing one side to a split LP. It'll be Burlington, Vermont imprint NNA Tapes' second venture into the format after Eli Keszler's split with Keith Fullerton Whitman earlier this year, and a relatively rare vinyl release on a label mostly focussed on cassette tapes. The album is titled simply after its two constituent parts, Oneohtrix's "Music For Reliquary House" and Rene Hell's "In 1980 I Was A Blue Square," each a five-part composition. Lopatin's side consists of new reworkings of a 2011 audiovisual installation entitled "Reliquary House" he did with videographer Nate Boyce, while Witscher's piece is a "suite... for piano, synthesizer and computer."
