  • Kompakt has revealed details for Pop Ambient 2013, due for release in January. At this point Pop Ambient is part of the electronic music calendar—there's been one every year since 2001—but they still manage to do something new every time. The 2013 edition is no exception. This year's collection features Kompakt co-founder Michael Mayer's first ever appearance in the series with the Wolfgang Voigt remix of "Sully" (the opening track from his recent album, Mantasy). Another first comes from label staples Matias Aguayo and Jörg Burger, who debut their new collaborative project, Terrapin, with "Cirrus Minor" (a Pink Floyd cover, which also happened to be the closing track on Mayer's recent RA Podcast). Other highlights include Jens-Uwe Beyer (AKA Popnoname), Danish dub techno artist Mikkel Metal and Argentina's Leandro Fresco, who returns to the series for the first time since 2002. Tracklist 01.
