  • The Irradiance Cache will hold a "doomsday" party in Brooklyn on December 21st. If you're unfamiliar with the idea at this point you've probably been living under a rock, but here goes one more time: the Mayan calendar's current cycle ends on December 21st, and the supposedly approaching apocalypse has made the date into one of the season's biggest party nights. Brooklyn radio show The Irradiance Cache, which often focuses on abstract or experimental electronic music, will mark the occasion with its own party at 285 Kent. The show will be headlined by Strength Music boss DJ Qu, one of the East Coast's most prominent deep house producers and a past guest on Irradiance Cache. Also tapped is Ron Morelli, the man behind L.I.E.S., RA's favourite label of 2012, as well as Chicago's Svenghalisghost, who has appeared on L.I.E.S. Chicago-raised Brooklynite Slava, an artist who has released on labels as varied as Mathematics and Software, rounds out the anything-goes lineup. Tickets for the party are available on RA.
