- The Cologne-based duo will release In Technicolor in April.
COMA will release their debut album, In Technicolor, in April through Kompakt.
The Cologne-based duo of Georg Conrad and Marius Bubat will release the album on their hometown label following several 12-inches for Kompakt dating back to 2009. In Technicolor looks set to further showcase the COMA sound, which is clearly indebted to the melodic techno-pop Kompakt is known for. The pair are quoted in a press release as saying: "Where our previous releases were kind of mirroring a foggy black and white movie, this is definitely a colour film... our attempt at fusing diverse sounds in a more vivid manner, without falling prey to boring club conventions restricting the expressiveness of the music."
The album will help launch the 20th anniversary celebrations of Kompakt, with further albums, an extensive European tour and a documentary also in the pipeline for 2013. For an idea of what to expect, Kompakt are offering a free download of album track "Hoooooray" on their Soundcloud page.
