  • Silent Servant will make his Australian debut this Easter long weekend with shows in Sydney and Melbourne. With a production career spanning more than 15 years, Juan Mendez incorporates industrial and post-punk influences into his techno output, originally under name Jasper (on his own Cytrax label) and now as Silent Servant. A core member of the now defunct Sandwell District collective, Mendez moved on last year to release his debut solo LP, Negative Fascination, on noise artist Dominick Fernow's Hospital Productions to a warm reception. His first Australian show will place on March 28th at Sydney's One22, where Strange Signals will host the gig with James Walsh and Asger Jorn on support duties. From there he heads to Melbourne to play two shows, the first being on March 29th at The Gasometer Hotel featuring live sets by White Hex and Standish/Carlyon, followed by a second show at The Mercat Basement on the 30th. Tickets to both the One22 and Mercat Basement shows can be purchased here on RA.
