  • Gold Panda has announced initial details of his second LP, Half Of Where You Live, due for release on June 10th. The London artist appeared back in 2009 with a handful of EPs. Upbeat yet ornate tracks like "Quitter's Raga" and "You" earned him not only a considerable amount of hype but also a spot on Ghostly International's label roster. He's been with the imprint ever since, releasing his debut album, Lucky Shiner, in 2010 and mixing a DJ-Kicks instalment in the meantime. Half Of Where You Live was largely inspired by Gold Panda's experiences on the road as well as his "own reflections on modern city living and the issues contained within that." First single "Brazil," which you can stream over on his SoundCloud, is textbook Gold Panda, mixing bass music-indebted structures with delicate, sample-based melodies and sounds. There's no tracklist for the album yet, but "Brazil" will be present, as will tracks called "Enoshima," "My Father In Hong Kong 1961," "We Work Nights," "Junk City II" and "Community," according to Pitchfork. The LP will see a joint release through Ghostly and NOTOWN, the label Panda started in 2010. Ghostly International will release Half Of Where You Live on June 10th, 2013.
