- The revered selector has compiled a selection of jazz and funk records from the Black Jazz archives.
Theo Parrish has curated the latest instalment in the Black Jazz Signature series.
Parrish, who's something of an authority on classic jazz and funk, follows the likes of Gilles Peterson and DJ Mitsu The Beats in overseeing a Black Jazz LP. Set for release on Snow Dog Records, the US selector has picked his favourite Black Jazz records from 1971 through '76. Four of his 12 selections come from Chicago outfit The Awakening. The compilation will be be released digitally, on CD and double-vinyl.
