The French icon will hit Chicago and New York for DJ gigs.
Garnier is one of the scene's most celebrated artists, and American fans will know that any appearances in the US are relatively rare. This quick trip looks to be the French native's first in the country for gigs since early 2012, when he went on a Live Booth Sessions tour with Benjamin Rippert and Scan X. (Residents of Chicago and New York might be feeling just a bit spoiled, relatively speaking, as that tour had stops in both cities.)
First up for Garnier is a night at Smart Bar in Chicago on Friday the 30th as part of that club's select series of 30th Anniversary events. He's billed for an extended set, with the venue's music director Nate Manic and fellow resident Sassmouth sharing the decks in support. Garnier will then swing through New York for Electric Zoo. On Saturday the 31st, he's due to play the festival proper at Randall's Island Park, as part of the Sunday School Grove stage's lineup which also features John Digweed and Azari & III, among others. The following Sunday night sees him booked for an official afterparty at Output.
