  • Liverpool club night Chibuku will host its next party on September 21st. The long-running club night says it's been given "a new lease of life," and will return to its spiritual home of the East Village Art Club—formerly known as Barfly and The Masque—which has recently undergone extensive renovations. This weekend's party will be headlined by Disclosure, with support coming from Justin Martin, Oneman and Numbers affiliate SOPHIE. Chibuku will be back the following week with Annie Mac, before presenting a Hospitality showcase on October 5th with Camo & Krooked. They'll then host George FitzGerald and Erol Alkan on the 12th. We caught up with the Chibuku bosses via email to discuss their plans:
The Chibuku parties are taking place at the revamped East Village Arts Club. Can you tell us a bit about the venue's revamp? East Village Arts Club is actually where we have been for the past 14 years. It's had a much-needed refit and the new leaseholders decided on a name change, to us it's still The Masque and always will be. The venue is first class now, it has all the amenities we needed, great security, management, the toilets have all been rebuilt, and in general the venue is in great shape. The theatre continues to be Liverpool's finest place to party. What can we expect from future Chibuku parties? We have always programmed strong and diverse lineups with a party in mind. Chibuku is as intense now as it was ten years ago, the current success of quality and more cerebral dance music means it's a great time for us. Expect finely tuned lineups and the best of Liverpool's hedonistic party scene.
