- The Erased Tapes producer's latest record is set for release next month.
Rival Consoles has a new EP set for release on Erased Tapes next month.
Entitled Odyssey, it's the producer born Ryan Lee West's first release since his Kid Velo full-length in 2011. It finds West continuing to mine a sound that's at once abstract, melodic and inviting, forged from short samples of things like ice cracking and analog electronics. Fellow traveler Peter Broderick, who's also released work through Erased Tapes, features on the EP's last cut, "Soul." You can check out the track "Voyager" in full on Erased Tapes' SoundCloud page. As reported last week, Rival Consoles will appear along with labelmates Nils Frahm and Kiasmos at a London showcase put on by The Hydra on October 18th.
