  • Mike Servito will hit Detroit next Saturday to play Samhain XIII. The annual event, taking place this year in TV Lounge's "red room," is a celebration of the Celtic festival Samhain, which has a complicated history. (It's something of a Halloween-like event marking a new year, or the start of the darker half of the year.) Origins aside, Detroit's Interdimensional Transmissions crew, who host the party, consider it the "best time of the year for dancing, especially late at night." That might be because of the extra hour given by the Fall time change—the event will technically run from 9 PM to 2 AM, but clocks will turn back an hour at 2AM. Servito, who cut his teeth DJing in Detroit and is now based in Brooklyn, where he's a resident at The Bunker, will be on hand again following a few other appearances over the years. Representing IT are Erika (whose debut LP Hexagon Cloud came out back in June), playing live, and BMG.
