  • Shackleton will return to the production fold with an EP called Freezing Opening Thawing, due out January 20th. Even by Shackleton's unhurried standards, last year was a quiet one, with no new records to speak of. But as Juno Plus report, he'll start 2014 with a new EP on his own Woe to the Septic Heart label. According to a press release, Freezing Opening Thawing comprises three tracks which continue Shackleton's "move away from sample manipulation in favour of synthesis," with his signature percussive style complemented by a "psychedelic edge." It follows his lauded Music for the Quiet Hour / The Drawbar Organ EPs, which arrived back in April 2012. The record will be accompanied by artwork by Zeke Clough, whose relationship with Shackleton stretches back to the Skull Disco era. You can listen to snippets of all three tracks over at the Surus distribution site. Tracklist 01. Freezing Opening Thawing 02. White Flower with Silvery Eye 03.
