  • The ceiling of Manchester venue Factory 251 collapsed in the early hours of February 7th, injuring seven people. According to BBC and Manchester Evening News reports, four men and three women suffered minor injuries when the second-floor ceiling caved in at around 2:30 AM. The venue, located on Princess Street in central Manchester, is the site of the old Factory Records HQ. It reopened as a club in 2010 and recently invited iconic NYC dance-punk band ESG to play at its fourth birthday party. The BBC quotes a club spokesman as saying the accident happened when "a screw head in a piece of plasterboard snapped, causing a large piece of plasterboard to come free in the second floor room." The spokesman added: "The building was evacuated and police and fire crews attended as a precaution." He said the club "sincerely apologise for the incident."
