  • The first names for Norbergfestival 2014 have been announced, with Emptyset among the acts due to touch down at the weekend-long Swedish festival in July. This year, Norbergfestival will celebrate 15 years of operation. As per usual, the action will take place at Mimerlaven, a disused iron ore mine outside the town of Norberg in central Sweden. Traditionally the music on offer has very much catered towards fans of noise and sound art, but as RA's Holly Dicker found out last year, house and techno's presence is steadily increasing. Alongside the previously mentioned high-powered Bristol duo, the current lineup includes an assortment of techno and experimental acts. Ulwhednar, a collaboration between Abdulla Rashim and Varg has been billed along with local techno act Sthlm Murder Girls and Berlin's Milton Bradley as Alien Rain. Last year, close to 100 names were booked in total, so you can count on plenty more lineup additions to made in the coming weeks and months.
