- The newly-resurgent label founder will drop the first record on Zhark in seven years next week.
Kareem will drop a new EP on his Zhark Recordings next Monday, June 2nd.
Kareem, AKA Germany's Patrick Stottrop, founded Zhark all the way back in 1996. Starting out as a more experimental anything goes-label, it was reinvented as a techno imprint (Zhark Recordings Berlin) later in its lifetime, before going quiet along with its founder after 2007. Stottrop emerged back in 2012 with drops on Fondation Sonore and The Death Of Rave, and now he'll bring Zhark Recordings back in earnest with The Sky Is Gone But You Are Still Here, its first vinyl release since that hiatus started in 2007. Described by the label as "uncompromising percussive hostility," the EP's four cuts traverse no-frills banging techno and more atmospheric excursions as well.
