  • US experimental producer Jeff Witscher will put out an album under the name Marble Sky this month. Over the years Witscher has assembled a lengthy discography across multiple aliases and collaborations. His primary moniker has been Rene Hell, through which he's appeared on labels like Type and PAN (the latter released his Vanilla Call Option LP a year ago). One of his other projects, focused on contemplative ambient and drone soundscapes, is Marble Sky. This self-titled album, to be issued by Cincinnati's Students Of Decay imprint, puts on vinyl for the first time Marble Sky recordings that mostly came out on limited-edition cassettes in the late '00s. Six have been selected, with a total running time of just over 70 minutes, and remastered by James Plotkin. Described by Students Of Decay as "the definitive collection of work" for the alias, and featuring photography from Helen Scarsdale, the album will come as a double-LP with gatefold jackets. There will also be a digital release. Tracklist 01. Pulling Up Grass Under A Blanket 02. Dull Hue 03. What You Might Forget 04. A Shining Juniper 05. Sunset On Low 06. Lea; Crossed Eyes Students Of Decay will release Marble Sky on September 30th, 2014.
