  • Mister Saturday Night has announced a partnership with Williamsburg's open-air food market Smorgasburg to bring their party to Central Park on Friday, September 19th. Brooklyn-based promoters Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter are no stranger to clever business partnerships. A recent feature in Fast Company profiled their Sunset Park-based party series and discussed their mutually beneficial relationship to the big-time real estate developers Jamestown. Where the developers provide much-coveted space and resources for the events, the DJs drum up interest in Sunset Park, and in particular, the neighborhood's Industry City business complex—thus bringing new high-end tenants to Jamestown's properties. This time the duo has struck a deal with the artisanal food bazaar Smorgasburg and its owners at Brooklyn Flea to bring disco, funk and house to Central Park for a free party with nosh provided by Ramen Burger, El Super Tostadas and Fleisher's, plus a beer and wine bar. Harkin and Carter will DJ the family-friendly affair, which runs runs from 5 PM to 9 PM at Summerstage in the southern section of the park. They'll be at Industry City again on the 21st for their Mister Sunday series, which continues through the October 26th, and then they'll return for Halloween at the Masonic Temple in Brooklyn on the 31st.
