On top of a trio of East Coast DJ dates, Terre Thaemlitz has a rare Soulnessless performance planned in Los Angeles.
House music luminary Terre Thaemlitz, AKA DJ Sprinkles, has confirmed a quick set of stateside appearances later this month.
Thaemlitz, who last year reissued her widely revered 2009 Sprinkles LP Midtown 120 Blues, is billed for three DJ gigs over three consecutive nights next week, all happening on the East Coast. First on Thursday is a stop in Cambridge for Make It New at Middlesex Lounge. Thaemlitz will then touch down in Brooklyn to play a French Kisses night at Good Room (where Justin Strauss?, DJ Billy Caldwell and Lloydski? will take care of local support), and then fly to Miami on Saturday for an all-night set for SAFE at Electric Pickle.
While the DJ dates should chart a course through house music's deeper expanses, Thaemlitz will also head to Los Angeles on Tuesday the 19th for a special 80-minute performance of his lengthy concept work Soulnessless, bookended by a slideshow and question-and-answer session. The event, presented by Volume at the not-for-profit arts space Human Resources, will also host a reading from local transgender writer and activist Félix Solano Vargas.
Tickets to the Sprinkles gigs in Brooklyn and Miami are available on RA.
