  • There's a new synth studio in Berlin's Kreuzberg district. It's called Handwerk Audio, and it's being run by a trio of highly regarded producers: Peter Van Hoesen, Marco Freivogel from Exercise One and Ricardo De Azcuenaga of the label birdsmakingmachine. It's not a recording studio in the traditional space—rather, it's a synth and drum machine collection you can make an appointment to use. Producers who book time bring their laptop, plug into the patchbay and record into their own sessions. The gear list includes classics from Roland, Sequential Circuits, ARP, Moog and Korg, and the audio conversion that gets it onto your hard drive is described as "mastering grade." You can check out the full spec here.
