- The Glasgow artist will release his long-awaited first LP in May.
Toby Ridler, AKA Becoming Real, will release his first full-length on May 25th.
Pure Apparition has had a troubled gestation. It was originally supposed to land a few years ago in the midst of a busy streak of EP releases where Ridler fleshed out his experimental sound, which took inspiration from dubstep, grime and footwork, among other things. But just when his album was almost complete, his hard drive crashed and he lost all the music.
Earlier this year Ridler re-emerged with the LQD OIL EP, which we said sounded "like the work of a brand new, or at least rejuvenated, producer," and now he's finally dropping Pure Apparition. The LP sees Ridler "expanding upon his initial, playful, post-grime soundscapes and venturing deeper in to techno-orientated territory," according to the label. It'll come out on London's Transgressive Records, and you can watch a video for album track "Tibetan Moves" below.
