  • Gobby is launching his Monkeybone project with a new LP. The Roommate is a self-released album from the New Yorker's newest alias, which he tells RA is for "techno and 'experimental'—whatever you want to call noisy techno." The new LP features four long tracks that chronicle the saga of a "horrible roommate" (with titles like "GF: Extra Keys" and "The Lost Charger Fight"), and you can can stream it in full below. The anonymous producer first appeared on UNO NYC back in 2012 with a string of releases that showed an increasingly deranged take on house and techno, culminating in some ultra-weird music last year that included a tape for 1080p and a series of free mixtapes. He also dropped a free album called Beats By Gobby, with a sequel reportedly in the works. Gobby promises upcoming live dates as Monkeybone, where he'll be playing a completely improvised live set.
