  • FaltyDL will headline first installment of Moony Habits at Complex on May 9th. The promoters behind Moony Habits seem to have an equal interest LA's woozy, Low End Theory beat scene as they do other dance music genres, and the first bill emphasizes this diversity. FaltyDL switches rapidly between jungle, hip-hop and house tempos on his forthcoming LP as Drew Lustman, The Crystal Cowboy, making him a perfect fit for Moony. Bakersfield-born producer Charles E. Dickerson, AKA Mono/Poly, is set to play live. Dickerson's been working with Flying Lotus's Brainfeeder label since 2011, and released his latest LP, Golden Skies, via the label in 2014. On opening duties is experimental hip-hop producer Mike Gao, who was a regular during the early days of Low End. The event's organizers told RA they named their party Moony Habits in an effort to convey the "spaced-out, romantic" sounds they aim to present. You can stream the new Drew Lustman album in its entirety below.
Tickets to Moony Habits are available on RA.
