  • Ryze will reopen as NEST on May 15th. The site at 423 College Street has gone through a few makeovers recently—before it was Ryze, it was Moskito and before that, The Rochester. The latest iteration comes from current Ryze owner Rob Oliverio and BPM Festival bigwigs Vito Tomasicchio and Phillip Anthony Pulitano, with bookings handled by No. 19 Music's Nitin. The new space spans 13,000 square feet with a 500 capacity main room and 300 capacity second room, armed with a Dynacord sound system. There's an attached restaurant which will be open late on weekends. NEST plans to keep Fridays for international guests, while Saturdays will focus on local talent. They'll launch the new club with a three-day "opening gala" featuring Black Coffee on Friday, May 15th, with Fehrplay the evening after and Danny Tenaglia on Sunday. Other upcoming bookings include Mike Shannon, Octave One and Stacey Pullen. "We are bringing our collective experiences from past projects and expertise from operating eight editions of the BPM Festival to the NEST nightclub experience," says Tomasicchio. "There has been so much talent that we’ve witnessed in Mexico that we were truly inspired and excited to have a platform to showcase them on a weekly basis in our home city."
