Discwoman plans Montreal weekender

- New York's Umfang and Volvox will play alongside a host of Montreal locals this weekend.
- Discwoman will throw two parties in Montreal this Friday and Saturday. The Brooklyn collective was formed last year as a platform to support female-identified artists in a male-dominated dance music industry, and counts DJs like Volvox, Beta Librae Umfang among its core members. In addition to hosting a talk earlier this year, they've held events in Boston, Puerto Rico, Detroit and Philadelphia, and are about to add Montreal as their latest stop. The two shows will feature original Discwoman members alongside a handful of Montreal artists including DJBOYZCLUB, Pascale Project, Heidy P and Frankie Teardrop. Friday's event will take place at La Vitrola, while Saturday's party will move over to Datcha. A percentage of the profits will be donated to Rock Camp For Girls Montreal.
