dwell_tevvel_structure comes in the midst of a surge of activity for German producer and IDM pioneer Uwe Zahn. After almost a decade of silence, he re-emerged in 2003 and has since released a handful of EPs and three solo albums. It also comes as Zahn had to cancel an upcoming festival appearance in the face of "serious health problems."
This latest project is an ambient one, according to FACT. "My experimentation and research led me to drone structures, clouds of resonating tones and dense, complex spectres," says Zahn. "For this album i've created a couple of so called 'structures,' 20-40 minute audio tracks using granular synthesis techniques. I arrange the structures in a larger composition. I took audio samples out of it to granulize again and repeat this process to achieve a microscopic level of sound."
The release will be limited to 150 copies on CD and comes via experimental label txt recordings. Zahn has another album in the pipeline as well—In-Between, coming out next Monday, June 29th via A Strangely Isolated Place, is a collaboration with Greek artist Hior Chronik and also finds itself in the ambient realm.
