  • Synkro's first album will come out on September 18th via R&S Records offshoot Apollo. The producer, real name Joe McBride, says Changes was informed by a desire to "take knowledge from the past and use it to change the future." He adds: "Finding early electronic music has always been a massive inspiration to me, learning the roots of where everything we listen to now comes from. It always amazes me how much has already been done with electronic music but it still keeps progressing. Listening to artists like Florian Fricke of Popol Vuh, Klaus Schulze, Pete Namlook and Tangerine Dream has really made me look at it in another light." The album sees McBride indulge a newfound interest in analogue equipment—"I got addicted to vintage synths after a trip to Japan last year," he says—with a Juno-6 and SH101 both featuring prominently. In addition to his work as Synkro, McBride is also one half of Akkord alongside Indigo. Listen to "Changes" below.
