  • Peter Scion's Through My Ghost EP will see release on Huntleys + Palmers on November 27th. Glasgow resident and H + P head Andrew Thomson first discovered Scion's music via a coldwave DJ mix. This led him to the Peter Scion Blogspot page, a clearinghouse of the bedroom producer's prolific output from 1996 through 2001. Scion himself says: "1996 to 2001 were intense years for various reasons. I wrote and recorded so much music that it makes me slightly exhausted just thinking about it." He goes on to describe his unfussy recording method, saying: "My albums were always recorded within a very short period of time. I once described myself as 'the Roger Corman of folk.' B-movie genius Corman once said that it shouldn't take more than a week to make a movie… and I say it shouldn't take any longer to make an album either." Though many of his recordings fall into the outsider folk genre defined by musicians like Jandek, Through My Ghost experiments with more electronic sounds, integrating "a cheap electric organ with a built-in rhythm machine," according to Scion.
