  • Peak Oil will release a self-titled six-tracker from Florin Bu¨chel's Operation Midnight Climax on November 13th. Bu¨chel is a hardware-obsesssed Swiss producer who looks after a number of creatively named projects. He's put out music on Jamal Moss's Mathematics label as Olfrygt, dropped a 12-inch for Drumpoet Community as part of Wavetest, and worked most extensively as Contra Communem Opinionem (CCO)—an alias under which he's put out nearly ten records for Lux Rec and the previously mentioned imprints. The Peak Oil album draws inspiration from a shadowy Cold War-era CIA program which allegedly dosed unsuspecting American citizens with LSD. Peak Oil, known for its elaborate packaging, has prepared blotter paper-style art and a faux redacted document which serves as liner notes. The label has this to say about the jacking, 303-heavy affair: "Bu¨chel has scripted a conceptually layered, palpably thrilling love letter to all forms of transgressive psychedelia, musical or otherwise." Peak Oil also recently announced a full-length from M. Geddes Gengras' rhythmic Personable project, which is due this month. Listen to "Behavioral Engineering" below.
