  • Affiliates of the shuttered Amsterdam club Trouw have applied to license a new venue called De School. The municipality of Amsterdam just issued notice that it is considering 24-hour licenses for three new nightclubs: Radion, Cruquiusgilde and De School—the latter is a proposed new venue operated by the company behind Trouw. De School is a 500-capacity space to be opened on the grounds of the former Each Land College in Amsterdam's west. Trouw shut down at the start of this year. The Amsterdam mainstay was always meant to be a temporary instalment, and apparently it's the same with De School—as Deep House Amsterdam report, the city's official statement says: "If all conditions are met, the company, which was previously responsible for Club 11 and Club Trouw, [will have] the opportunity to develop this site for a period of five years." We spoke with Trouw's Olaf Boswijk as part of our Exchange podcast series last October. Listen to the episode below.
